Carole F. Krause, born October 1, 1942, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in the University of Wisconsin Hospital’s Palliative Care Unit. Carole and her husband Erv moved from Watertown, Wisconsin to Wisconsin Dells in 1976 with their two daughters, Erica & Anna. Carol loved her family and friends and we know there are many fond memories. She loved watching “her birds” and many a squirrel met its’ demise for eating at her bird feeders. Carole enjoyed traveling up north to her cabin where she went on animal rides, played a lot of dominoes and laughed a lot. In 2005 she took the trip of her dreams to Alaska with her cousin’s family and had a wonderful time. Throughout Carole’s illness she set many goals; from her grandson Gabe’s graduation from HS, the birth of Erica’s first child, Daniel Erwin born in 2004, and Gabe’s return from Iraq in 2006. Her next goal was to be here to see Erica’s family adopt a child from Korea; sadly this was a goal she was unable to obtain. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Harold Krueger; her husband, Erwin D. Krause; and grandson, Elijah Wagner. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Krueger) Schneider, Watertown; her daughter, Anna M. Krause, North Freedom, Wisconsin; grandson, Gabriel Teniente, Baraboo, Wisconsin; daughter, Erica J. Krause-Wagner and husband, Andrew; grandson, Daniel, all of Lansing, Iowa; and many family and friends. Our mother’s life was richer for her friendship circle, and we are grateful for the care and comfort they provided. We are very proud of our mother and her very real contribution to cancer research. Her last days we trust were gentle, thanks to wonderful care and good medicine. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 P.M. on Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Picha Funeral Home, 120 E Adams Street, Lake Delton, Wisconsin. There will also be visitation Saturday, April 12, 2008 from 10 to 11 A.M. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 603 Oak St. Wis. Dells, with a memorial service held at 11 A.M. and a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Association, the National Audubon Society or the charity or cause of your choice. |
