Credit Policy

Our highest priority when called upon by families is to provide caring, compassionate and dignified funeral service and to be accommodating in the choices of services and merchandise that they so choose.

Secondly, it is fair to say in these business dealings that the funeral home shall expect to be paid in a timely fashion for the arranged services and merchandise as anyone else would expect.

We have been and always will be understanding to the associated financial burden that unexpected funeral costs are to some people and in certain situations that payment arrangements are necessary. Special consideration will be given in the matter of payment depending on life insurance.

The funeral home is a small business and it depends greatly on its patrons. It is not a bank or lending institution. However, we will consider a payment plan that extends unsecured credit over a period of one year.

The remaining unpaid balance of the funeral bill will be divided by 12 and payment to the funeral home will be expected no later than the fifteenth day of the month. Monthly statements will be sent out to reflect payment history. If this arrangement is followed no interest will be incurred. If this arrangement is not followed, interest will be charged. This is computed by a periodic rate of 1½% per month, which is an annual percentage rate of 18%, added to the unpaid balance.

At our discretion, if no payment is received after six months of the original invoice date or if a balance is still owed after a period of one year, the bill will be turned over to a collection agency. Please understand that this a last resort that we prefer not to rely on for restitution.

By being financially sound and keeping accounts receivable to a minimum we will be able to keep the overall prices of our services and merchandise more affordable.
