Duaine Counsell, age 83 of LaCrosse, Wisconsin formerly of Wisconsin Dells and Stevens Point, Wisconsin died Monday, December 24, 2007 at Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

A eulogy service will be held Friday, December 28, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin with visitation held from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Military rites will be provided by the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells.

Duaine was born July 9, 1924 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin the son of Kenneth and Priscilla (Owens) Counsell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War 2. Following an honorable discharge he furthered his education and received a masters degree in physical education from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and from Stevens Point. Duaine also was a professor for 31 years at UW Stevens Point. Duaine owned and operated the Parsons Trading Post in Lake Delton, Wisconsin, taking over the business from his mother which had been in the family since mid 1940’s and he eventually formed a partnership with his daughter, to continue the traditions already set forth.

Duaine is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Candice (Henry) Lukasavage of Lake Delton; grandchildren, Brandon and Tiffany; and great granddaughter, Haley. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife of over 50 years, Wanda (nee Tofson); daughter, Kim; sister, Beverly Baumann and brother, Donald Counsell.
