Edward Walczyk, age 93, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at St. Clare Hospital, Baraboo, Wisconsin.

 A Mass of Remembrance service will be held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, Wisconsin on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Edward was born October 6, 1914 in Greenville, South Dakota, the son of Valentine and Catharina (Szczepaniak) Walczyk. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp restoration project in northern Wisconsin after the depression. He then moved to Chicago and worked in the auto body trade. In 1947 he moved back to Wisconsin and began farming near Gilman. Upon selling the farm in 1958, he eventually opened his own auto body shops in Gilman, Thorp, and Stanley areas. In 1994 he moved to Wisconsin Dells to be with his daughter, Madonna.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Madonna (James) Timm of Wisconsin Dells, Rita (Michael) Becker of Menomonie Falls, Katherine (Tim) Arbeiter of Houston, TX., and Theresa (Scott) Schehr of Winter Park, FL.; son, Mark of Huntsville, AL.; sisters, Frances (Richard) Osberg of Lompoc, CA.; Elizabeth Vereb of Gary, IN., Gertrude Kollar of Port St. Lucie, FL., and Anna Chaplinski of Gilman, WI.; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Theodore Walczyk; sister Mary Kapszukiewicz and previous wives Agnes Bruggeman and Julia Polus.
