Gary Decorah, Co-Su-Ma-Ga, (Great Thunder) age 50 of Baraboo, Wisconsin died Sunday, November 25, 2007 at his residence following a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at PotcCinuk Community Center in Wittenberg with Morgan WhiteEagle officiating. Burial will be at the John Stacey Memorial Cemetery in Wittenberg Township. Visitation will be held at the Native American Church on Highway 12 near Lyndon Station, Wisconsin on Monday, November 26, 2007 beginning at 4 P.M. and on Tuesday at PotcCinuk Community Center at Wittenberg beginning at 4 P.M. Gary was born September 9, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Melvin and Phyllis (Doxtator) Decorah. He grew up in Chicago and about 25 years ago moved to Wisconsin Dells and for the past 10 years lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Gary liked to live a “free spirit” lifestyle that went together with his enjoyment of riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle; he enjoyed pow wows and being around people; and he was concerned and cared for his family that he loved very much. Gary is survived by his daughter, Rebekka RedCloud of Tomah, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Michael Mashka and Ariana Addison; brothers, Leonard Smith of Alsip, Illinois and Glen (Crystal) Decorah of Black Creek, Wisconsin; sisters, Gloria Decorah of Baraboo, Wisconsin and Gladys Decorah of Green Bay, Wisconsin and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; aunts and uncles. |
