Jeffery LaMere, (Caxshep, “Eagle”) age 41 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin peacefully walked on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at his residence with his loving family by his side following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Native American Church between Wisconsin Dells and Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. Burial will be at the Trempealeau Public Cemetery in Trempealeau, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be held at the Native American Church on Monday beginning at 3 p.m.

Jeff was born September 21, 1966 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin the son of Charles and Betty (Funmaker) LaMere. He grew up in LaCrosse and Wittenberg, Wisconsin, lived in Palm Springs, California for 8 years where he mingled with the rich and famous and returned to the Dells area where he has lived for the past 10 years. Jeff was an avid bingo player; an all around good cook and connoisseur of fry bread; he liked to fish especially for bass; he was able to tell a good story and was keenly aware of our nations politics.

Jeff is survived by his mother, Betty of Lake Delton; brothers, Patrick of Lake Delton and Elliott of Baraboo; a half brother and a half sister. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Lisa LaMere.
