Jerry Walther, age 66 of rural Mauston, Wisconsin died Monday, November 12, 2007 at Hess Memorial Hospital, Mauston. Memorial funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin with Reverend Jeffrey Fairchild officiating. Interment will be at Hustler Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 P.M. until the time of service at 7 P.M. Jerry was born October 7, 1941 in Aiken Township of Richland County, Wisconsin the son of Arlo and Nellie (Walton) Walther. He attended Boaz Grade School and graduated from Richland Center High School in 1959. In July of 1964 he married Gloria Regelin in Mauston. He worked for 34 years for the Mauston Co-Op retiring in 1999. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his favorite pastimes included snowmobiling, motorcycles, picking mushrooms in the spring and fall, camping, collecting guns, and telling jokes and tall tales. He was the charter member and president for 25 years of the Castle Rock River Runners Snowmobile Club; a past Juneau County Board Supervisor and past Lisbon Town Board member. Jerry is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Debra (Glenn) Priest of Mauston; brother, Lawrence “Mac” Walther of Florida; sister, Janice (Gene) Klingaman of Eagle River, Wisconsin and granddaughters, Ciera and Hali. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Capaul. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Serenity House Hospice of Tomah, Wisconsin. |
