Kenneth Schehr, age 84 of Oxford, Wisconsin died peacefully Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at the Wm.S.Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Funeral services with military rites will be held Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Oxford Funeral Home in Oxford with Pastor Barbara Bolz officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services. Visitation will be held at the Oxford Funeral Home on Saturday from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M. Kenneth was born May 23, 1923 in Champlin, Minnesota the son of Jake and Hannah (Klabunde) Schehr. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945 and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. In 1947 he was united in marriage to Lillian Weishoff in Portage, Wisconsin. Ken worked as a machine operator on the Milwaukee Railroad for many years. Ken is survived by daughters, Barbara Schehr of Wisconsin Rapids, Patricia (Albert) Gavinski of Portage, Wisconsin and daughter in law, Gloria Schehr of Pardeeville, Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, James; sisters, Sylvia Jacobson and Virginia Kuhn; brothers, Eugene, Floyd and Clifford; and 2 great grandchildren, Michael Thome and Brittany Baek. |
