LaVern “Ole” Lund, age 79 of Portage, Wisconsin formerly of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin with Reverend Craig Wolfgram officiating. Cremation will follow the traditional services. Visitation will be held the same day from 3 P.M. until the time of service at 5 P.M. Military rites will be provided by the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells. Ole was born September 28, 1928 in Forward, Wisconsin the son of Arthur and Olivia (Jacobson) Lund. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1952. In June of 1954 he married Mary Murray in Madison, Wisconsin where he also worked for Oscar Mayer. Later they moved to Florida for 5 years and then returned to Wisconsin. In the Adams/Friendship area he worked many years at MetalFab and following retirement they moved to Wisconsin Dells where they lived for 15 years. Besides being a hard working person Ole was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Ole is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Thomas (Diane) Lund of King, Wisconsin; daughters, Nancy (Joel) Goslawski of Oxford, Wisconsin, Audrey (Larry Olson) Davis of Hustler, Wisconsin and Vada (Larry) Schutz of Briggsville, Wisconsin; brother, Robert (Delores) Lund of Harmony Grove, Wisconsin; sister, Joan (Donald) Niva of Madison; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jason Blezien; sister, Doris Lund and brother, Arthur Lund. |
