Richard Goben, age 73 of Lake Delton, Wisconsin died Thursday, October 11, 2007 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Memorial funeral services will be held Friday, October 19, 2007 at 7:30 P.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M.

Richard was born June 7, 1934 in Petersburg, Illinois the son of Joseph and Verancia (Oller) Goben. He grew up in Chicago, Illinois and after school he joined the U.S. Marines. Following an honorable discharge he married Patricia Rittmiller in Chicago in April of 1955. For many years he drove truck for Meyer Material. They moved to the Dells area and Richard started Goben Trucking, and finally retired in 1999. In his earlier years he was involved in raising Appaloosa and Thoroughbred horses.

Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Anthony of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; and sisters, Lavina Gay DeMatteis of St. Francis, Wisconsin and Shirlee (Arthur) Behrens of Mason City, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen and Patricia.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Heart Association or Cancer Society.
