Mary Jo Dierschow

Mary Jo Dierschow, age 91 years, of Friendship and formerly of West Chicago, IL died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Villa Pines Living Center in Friendship. She was born on May 8, 1921 in St. Charles, IL to Charles and Theresa (Schramer) Dabney.

Mary was united in marriage on August 21, 1943 to LaVern W. Dierschow at St. John’s Catholic Church in Winfield, IL. She worked as a legal secretary for an attorney and then served in the administration for the DuPage County Airport. Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, PCCW, Parish Council, American Legion Auxiliary and as a counselor at Jane Adams Hullhouse. She enjoyed antiquing and quilting.

Survivors include her husband – LaVern of Friendship, 4 Children – Jane Dierschow of Maplepark, IL, David Dierschow of Adams, Marla Dierschow of Warrenville, IL and Anne (Rick) Bussman of Warrenville, IL; 5 Grandchildren – Michele (John) Zieche, Richard (Margit) Fotre, Lisa Dieken, David Dierschow JR and Karen (Lenard) Jones; 10 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; Sister – Patricia Bartels of Fridley, MN; Special Friend – Elaine Meade of Wisconsin Dells and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother in law - Vernon Bartels and Great Granddaughter – Emily.

Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Friendship, WI with Father James McNamee officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until 11:30 AM with a rosary at 11:15. There will also be a visitation on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 10 to 11:30 AM at the Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago, IL followed by a short service with burial to follow at the Glen Oak Cemetery, West Chicago.
