Andrzej Sobiś, age 66, of Wautoma, WI (Previously of Lake Delton), passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 30, 2023, at UW Hospital in Madison.

A Memorial Gathering for Andrzej will take place at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, WI on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.

Andrzej was born on November 4, 1956 in Koło, Poland, the son of Henryk and Aleksandra (Kozłowska) Sobiś. He attended Stanisława Staszica and graduated with a degree in Geology.

In 1978 he married Honorata Jaszczak and had 2 beautiful children, Marcelina and Miłosz. After he graduated college, he began his career with Kłodawa where he worked in the salt mines until he retired from there as a supervisor in 2006. Andrzej and Teresa met in Poland in 2013 and on July 18th, 2014 in Baraboo, WI they were united in marriage.

Andrzej loved traveling and he vacationed in many countries. He returned to Poland to visit his family almost every year since living in the US. He loved meeting new people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He also loved dancing, listening to music, gardening, building furniture, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Andrzej is survived by his wife Teresa, children Marcelina (Burak Ulgur) Sobiś-Ulgur and Miłosz (Magdalena) Sobiś; grandchildren Adrian Walczak, Marcel Zawadzki and Mateus Zawadzki, and Stasiu Sobiś; sister Eva Zielinska and niece Aneta Zielinska; stepchildren, Yvonne (Jeremy) Carley, Marzena (Dave) Schumann, and Anna (Grant Wandrey) Kwiatkowski; step grandchildren Samantha Carley, Gabriella Carley, Paige Carley, Ariana Pagel, Ava Pagel, Ayden Pagel, Madelyn Schumann, Asher Schumann, Gustave Wandrey and Elsie Wandrey and many cousins and family in Poland.

He is preceded in death by his parents Henryk and Aleksandra Sobiś.
