Obituary

On Dec 16, 2024 , Anna Leona Davis, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born on November 21, 1929, to Emory and Ida (Decker). Anna spent her early years on the Joe Ray Farm in Creston, Iowa. She graduated from Newton High School in 1947 and later moved with her family to LaValle, WI—a journey fondly remembered for transporting two chickens in a crate atop their car.
On May 31, 1948, Anna married Robert (Bob) Davis in a double ring wedding alongside her in-laws "Mug" and Ivan Diece. Anna and Bob shared a devoted marriage of 62 years until his passing in 2010. Following their marriage, they farmed in the LaValle WI area.
Of this marriage came 5 boys. Anna's greatest joy in life was raising her 5 boys. Even when her memory started to fail she could tell you their names. A devote Christian believer, Anna made sure that her family knew the way to heaven. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". John 3:16
Anna was recognized for her culinary skills, delighting her family with favorites such as fried chicken, fried potatoes, coconut cream pie, and homemade bread. Over the years, she also worked at JCPenney Reedsburg and Portage, Storybook Gardens and Witches' Gulch in Wis Dells. Despite her traditional values, Anna embraced modern technology and texted with loved ones until the age of 93. A voracious reader of fiction and a dedicated diarist, she thoughtfully chronicled daily events throughout her life.
In later years, Bob and Anna enjoyed winters in Clewiston, Florida, where Anna worked at a local drugstore while Bob labored in the sugar cane fields.
She is survived by her five sons: LaVern (Cheryl) of Wisconsin Dells; David (Jean) of Pardeeville; Robin of Reedsburg; Jefferson (Joan) of Menomonee Falls; and Jerome (Barbara) of Portage. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and her brother-in-law Bob Mobley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; sister Hildred Ihde; grandsons Michael Davis and Aaron Davis; and many in-laws.
Private graveside services will be held Friday, December 20. Following the services, a Celebration of Life luncheon at 1:00 PM for friends and family, will be held at the Newport Town Hall, N9236 Town Hall Rd, Wisconsin Dells.
The family would like to thank the staff at Our House Memory Care Wis Dells for their care and love shown to Anna in her journey home.
