Arlene C. Gotowitz “Shorty”, age 81, of Baraboo, formerly of Rock Spring, WI, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, August 11, 2026 at Jefferson Meadows, Baraboo, WI.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 17 at 11:00 A.M. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, WI, with Father Cryton Outschoorn officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00. Arlene will be interred at the Lyndon Station Cemetery.
She was born in Richfield, WI, to Lawrence and Catherine (Beheim) Mueller on August 30, 1944, born at home. She graduated from Hartford Union High School in 1962. Arlene married Glen Gotowitz at St. Columbus Catholic Church in Richfield, WI on May 16, 1969.
Arlene worked at George Webb’s, and Glen owned his own trucking business until 1999. They moved to Lyndon Station, where they enjoyed retirement. Her husband passed away on March 1, 2004. Arlene moved to Wis. Dells where she worked at Ho-Chunk Casino until her retirement. Arlene and her best friends Mary and Marion enjoyed going to The Crystal Grand Theatre, going out for fish on Friday nights and going to the Christmas Shows in the Dells with Joyce, Mary, Marion, and Bobby.
Arlene is survived by her sister Beverly (Ralph) Hall of Slinger; brothers Kenneth (Donna) Mueller of Colgate and Donald (Betty) Mueller of Germantown; brother-in-law Eugene (Colleen) Gotowitz of Brookfield and sister-in-law Christine Knitter of Milwaukee. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Glen of 35 years; her parents Lawrence and Catherine Mueller; parents-in-law Arthur Gotowitz, Jerome and Marion Knitter; brothers Lawrence Jr. and LaVern; sisters Diana (Kenneth) Wieglein and Rita Ann.
The family would like to send a special thanks to her friends Joyce Atkinson and Mary McKillip. Also a special thanks to St. Clare Hospital and Medical Center, St. Croix Hospice and Jefferson Meadows staff and nurses in the Autumn Wing.
