Barbara Louise Mills, age 88, of Lake Delton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Noon on June 27, 2024, with Pastor Lee Bushweiler officiating at Picha Funeral Home – Lake Delton. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service 12:00 Noon. She will be laid to rest following the service at the Lake Delton Village Cemetery.
Barbara was born in Reedsburg, Wisconsin on August 1st, 1935, the daughter of Stanley William Weidling and Evelyn Lousie Weber Weidling. Barbara grew up on the family farm in Lake Delton with her 8 siblings and attended Wisconsin Dells School. Her fondest stories are of her growing up with her siblings and the mischief they would get into as she called it "the good ol' days".
She met the love of her life Francis Mills, and they married in 1953 at the Lake Delton Methodist Church. Together they had 4 children Ernest, Mildred, Kenneth, and Steven. She worked 47 years at Copa Cabana. She was known for her hard work at the restaurant making her delicious cheese soup and her famous steaks. She enjoyed listening to country music, dancing, watching the birds on her front porch, and visiting with family and friends. She also loved going to church and breakfast on Sundays.
Barbara is survived by her children Ernest Mills (Carolyn), Millie Mills (Bill Mueller), Kenneth Mills (Anna) and Steven Mills (Shannon Johnson); grandchildren David, Rebecca, Megan, Melissa, Cassidy, Jeremy, Jake, Courtney, Ashley, Taylor along with 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, well as many dear friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frances, sister Betty, and brothers Billy and Bernard.
For all donations you are strongly encouraged to donate to the diabetes foundation. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Maureen Murphy for her years of special care and support she provided towards their beloved mother. A special thank you to Dr. Orkfritz for the care provide at St. Clare hospital during her time of illness. And one last special thank you to Agrace Hospice for caring for our mother the last few months of her life. Barbara was loved by many and will be missed deeply.
