Barbara Thomas, age 66 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Friday, February 16, 2024 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Barbara was born October 3, 1957 in Baraboo, Wisconsin the daughter of Carl "Chuck" and Lu (Crist) Schwieger. She was a lifelong Wisconsin Dells resident and had attended Wisconsin Dells High School. In October of 1988 she married Leland Thomas. Barb worked at many different jobs but always was involved with people that allowed her to meet and greet the whole community always with a smile. Fear was not a word in Barbara's vocabulary. She would protect without thought to her own well-being, and on one occasion had to stand down a strong armed robber at work.

Barb loved well and was a well loved wife, mother, sister and friend. You are greatly missed by your family but grateful for the blessing you were to everyone. She was selfless to a fault which made her family have to persuade her to take time for herself.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Leland; son, Kye (Nikki) Schraith; brother, Jeffrey Schwieger; sisters, Susan (John) Crass and Mary Harrington; sister-in-law, Angela (Brian) Brockman and brothers-in-law, Nick Thomas and Tony Thomas. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her favorite four-legged companion, Elmo. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents in law, Leland Thomas and Linda Wendler and brother-in-law, Jeff Thomas.

The family would like to give special thanks to Rae and Brooke from Agrace Hospice for their wonderful care given to Barb.
