Catherine Barrie White, 79, Wisconsin Dells, WI. Barrie passed away on July 30, 2024, peacefully and comfortably at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI.

A celebration of her important life will be held at the community room in the Kilbourne Public Library, Wisconsin Dells, WI on August 24, from 10:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. Parking is available on the street, in the parking lot, or in the parking lot of the Catholic church across the street (permission granted).

Barrie was born on April 30, 1945. The daughter of Joyce and Robert Nilles in Illinois. Her life was enriched by her experience as a registered nurse for 35 years, and by her subsequent volunteer activities. She enjoyed children and animals and worked with organizations supporting both. Very much a lady, she was mighty, smart, witty, and a beautiful force of nature. Her German fortitude and her Irish humor carried her and others. She was a caretaker.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Christine Pernecke, her dear son, Thomas Pernecke, her grandchild Madeline (Minerva) Pernecke, and her much loved sister Camilla Nilles.

Her daughter, Christine, extends special thanks to the following loving and generous people of her caring community of The Wisconsin Dells for their kindness towards Barrie: Kerri Ryan, Debbie Kinder, Brianna of the Wisconsin Dells Police Department, and the department as a whole, John Burch, Char Riley, Kim Pearson, and all of the sweet people at Aldi in Baraboo. You all made her feel secure and cared for.
