On Monday, April 29, 2024, Casimir "Casey" Piwonski, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was ninety-nine years old.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church (603 Oak St.) in Wisconsin Dells, WI, with Father Garrett Kau celebrating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

Casey was born January 18, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Stella (Kruowski) Piwonski. A long time resident of Lake Delton, he loved to fish and could often be found walking and casting along the river. He loved to tell stories, dance, and enjoyed an occasional nip of the Christian Brothers along with all the polkas and old country music. His smiles and jokes could light up any room he entered; he had a wonderful way of bringing people together with patience, kindness, and his generous spirit. Casey was passionate about history and tried to use those lessons to teach his family how to build a firm foundation to weather all the storms and sunny days of life. He valued hard work and determination and in retirement he even made it to Poland to fulfill a life-long dream to see the land his parents knew. Being the patriotic man he was, Casey served in the Naval Reserves and remained active in The American Legion. He will be profoundly missed.

Casey is survived by his wife Charlotte; children, Steven (Veronica), Danny, and Casey Piwonski, Caroline Roeker, Joseph (Celese) Nero and Kim (Greg) Rhyner; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edward Piwonski, John Budzinski, Clara Piwonski, Lucille Sherosky, Sophie Wanta; grandchildren, Shelby Rhyner and Holly Piwonski.

The family would like to thank Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Agrace Hospice for their compassion and loving care of Casey.

In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to the memorial fund.
