Catherine "Penny"
Ann Arens
Oct 8, 1944 — Apr 10, 2026
Reedsburg
Catherine "Penny" Arens, age 81, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station with Father Cryton Outschoorn celebrating. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. A luncheon will be provided after the mass. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date.
Penny was born October 8, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Ruland) Sitas. She enjoyed working and keeping busy. For several years she enjoyed being the secretary for St. Mary's Parish and working behind the scenes on many successful projects. She loved being a part of the mass at church, from the choir to lecturing. Penny was also one of the first female Eucharistic ministers in the diocese. She loved numbers, working several tax seasons for two local tax offices. She loved to sing, which she would get complimented on often, and could dance the night away at any wedding or street dance she attended. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, and caring for her grandchildren. Living in the country she could walk the trails of the 40 acres she called home and watch the bluebirds that returned each spring outside her window.
Penny is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jim; sons, Ted Arens, Alan (Abby) Arens, and Michael Arens; daughter, Pamela (Shawn) Browne; brothers, Charles "Chuck," Chad, and William "Willie" (Connie) Sitas; and sister, Louise Sitas. She is further survived by her 10 grandchildren: Blaise, Chance, Dayne, Alana, Kiah, Cooper, Leila, Katelyn, Aron, and Cameron. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James, and her infant sister Michelle.
The family would also like to thank the staff at Casa De Oakes and Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care.
