Black River Falls

Obituary

Chaise McGowan, age 24 of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026.

A memorial gathering celebration of life/pot luck will be held at Newport Park (70 County Rd. A) in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday, July 11, 2026 beginning at 12:00 Noon.

Chaise was born on July 22, 2001 in Minnesota, the son of Frank and Kathleen (McNamara) McGowan. Chaise loved music of all types, he also made music and was a talented singer. He aspired to become a personal trainer and own his own gym one day. Working out and body building was something that made him not only physically feel good but mentally helped him through life, and he wanted to share what working out could do for someone with others.

He loved being outdoors whether it be hiking, fishing, snowboarding or skateboarding he was always a very active man. Chaise had a magical personality and it didn't take you long to get drawn in by his genuine aura. Chaise was so unbelievably excited to become a father, let alone becoming a "girl dad" due to him being raised by woman and having sisters. Chaise loved being a big brother and having so many siblings, blood or not, and was so proud of each and every one of them, and they all looked up to and admired him in many ways.

Chaise struggled with mental health illnesses most of his life and was a strong advocate for suicide prevention and men being able to feel their feelings and emotions, and that didn't mean that they weren't still masculine and manly.

If you or someone you know or love is struggling with mental illness, please reach out for resources and help. You'd be surprised at the community and village that surrounds you! National Suicide Prevention Lifeline:1-800-273-8255
