Craig A.
Platt
Nov 8, 1963 — Mar 17, 2026
Wisconsin Dells
Craig Platt, age 62, was called home to his loving God on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, after a nearly year- long battle of health complications caused by a rare virus.
Craig was a lifelong resident of the Wisconsin Dells community that he cherished and frequently supported by donating to others in time of need. Craig always put the needs of others first; this became even more evident during his illness. Even up to the time of his death, he was concerned about what everyone else was feeling. Craig graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1982 before joining his father in the family body shop business. Craig and his dad worked side by side for many years, with Craig eventually taking over the business, continuing its legacy with skill, integrity, and pride. Craig's greatest joy, however, was time spent with his family.
Craig loved sharing laughter and his sisters could make him giggle with just the threat of being tickled. He was especially close with his first and forever friend, his twin sister Christy. He enjoyed the outdoors and creating memories around the campfire during camping trips and cousins camping weekends. He looked forward to time up north with his wife, Deena, where they had many four wheeling adventures with family and friends. He also loved cruising with the top down in his 70 Chevelle, which he claimed was how he won Deena's heart. He and Deena cherished trips to Florida with his favorite time being spent in the pool with family. Craig was a loving father and enjoyed taking trips with his children in addition to having family game nights. Another one of Craig's passions was attending races every summer Saturday night with his dad and ending the season at Octoberfest. Craig cherished morning coffee with his mom so they could catch up on the latest news before he would start his workday. He also relished sibling outings with his sisters. All of these were among his favorite moments—simple joys that reflected his warm spirit and love of togetherness.
Craig is lovingly survived by his wife of 23 years, Deena; his children Stacy Platt (Justin) of Westfield and Allan Platt of Wisconsin Dells; stepdaughters Jenifer (Hayden) Klabunde of Montello; Angie Johnson (Justin) of Westfield and his adored grandchildren, Jackson, Isabella, Myles, Alice and Bodhi. He is further survived by his parents Gordon and Kathleen of Wisconsin Dells; his sisters Christy (Dan) Domres of Wisconsin Dells, Patricia (Lenny) Mayer of Reedsburg, Lora (Bill) McPhillips of Oconomowoc, and Lynn (Tom) Strehlow of La Valle; along with nieces and nephews; Tim Platt, Emily (Christian) Beckham, Gracie (Clayton) Brott, Lenny Mayer, Will Mayer, Tommy Strehlow, and Sadie Strehlow, and great-nephews Clay Platt, Callen Brott, Casen Brott and a host of other relatives and friends. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, along with his in-home caregiver Jeremy Olson, for the exceptional comfort, compassion, and support they provided to Craig and his family. May Craig rest in the eternal peace of Christ, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
