David Ferris, age 85, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells with Rev. Matt Gehrke officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M.

David was born January 7, 1939 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin the son of James and Lorena (Frank) Ferris. When young, he lived the dairy farm life with his Mom and Dad. He graduated from Waukesha High School in 1957, attended Carroll College (University), then joined the United States Navy as an electronics tech in 1963, serving in active duty in Vietnam, leaving in 1968. He was then employed at RTE/Cooper Industries/EATON until retiring in 1999, then moving with Kathee to beloved Pagosa Springs, CO for 11.5 years, returning to Wisconsin Dells, WI to be closer to family. David was an avid skier, biker, and hiker/camper; traveling the USA, including Canada and Alaska. He especially loved hiking/camping in the mountains "Out West". Back in the Dells he loved going to water parks (well, mostly at the urging of Kathee). They did much camping and hiking at Devils Lake and North Woods.

Dave is survived by his wife Kathee; sons, Christon Schaefer (Sandra Schaefer), Andrew Ferris; daughter, Brenda (Michael) Richter, 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Sausville (John Sausville); parents-in-law, Al and Catherine Dunn; brother-in-law, Randy Dunn; and a granddaughter and grandson.
