David Halvorsen, age 69, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 9, 2026.

A Celebration of Life and luncheon will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 12:00 Noon to 3:00 P.M. at the Briggsville American Legion Post 329 (W8539 Highway 23). Please wear your best Packers or Cubs attire in Dave's memory.

David was born November 17, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Alton and Viola (Sears) Halvorsen. David graduated from Luther High School South in 1974. He then attended UW-Stevens Point, studying forestry. After some career changes, he was most proud of hauling structural steel in downtown Chicago. Dave retired in 2014 from University of Illinois-Chicago. During retirement he enjoyed fishing, golfing, shooting pool and riding his John Deere tractor.

David is survived by his wife Janan; daughter Angela (Ashlee) Montez; stepchildren, Travis, Jessica and Damon (Lindsay) Cronn; along with grandchildren Bentley and Madison; sisters-in-law, Linda and Marlene; brothers-in-law, Roland (Sandy) Jensen; sisters-in-law Delores (Chris) Heiser and Marilyn (Jack) Jabusch. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, and his former wife Dawn. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary and Keith and sister-in-law Juli Halvorsen.
