David (Dave) Stanley Norton, known affectionately as "Stanley" by his high-school sweetheart wife, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Necedah, Wisconsin.

Dave was born on June 17th, 1958 to parents Don and Joan Norton in Rockford, Illinois. He was most known for his tireless work ethic, skilled craftsmanship and incredible humility. Dave will also be remembered as an ardent golfer and experienced world traveler. His greatest devotion was to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Despite being a man of few words, Dave showed his loved ones how much he cared for them through his countless acts of service and unconditional support. As a "work-before-play" kind of guy he spent his life with a "work-so- you-can-play" wife, and together they created a life of comfort, adventure and meaning. During his 40 years in the banking industry, Dave was highly regarded as a man of integrity who went well beyond providing support to his colleagues and customers as he mentored them toward their successes. In the wake of his passing, the full scope of his influence and dedication is being felt by those who respected, admired and loved him.

Dave is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cyndie "June"; their children, Kallie June (Nat) Taylor, Whitney Stana (Cornel) Blakely, and Braden G Norton; their grandchildren, Caelum and Makson Blakely, and Elodie and Maisie Taylor, mother-in-law Jacqueline (James) Dehler; and his siblings Diane (Dave) Gregory, Mary (Ernie) Pohl, Paul Norton, and numerous nephews and nieces. Dave is also survived and predeceased by a plethora of pawed companions. Predeceased by parents Donald and Joan Norton, grandparents Fred and Agnes Norton, father-in-law Gerald Young and grandmother-by-marriage Eva Leddy.

Over the last 5 years, Dave's family observed changes in his mind and body that he was unable or unwilling to acknowledge which created adversity and negatively impacted his quality of life. Sadly, Dave chose to end his life on a beautiful day looking out into nature. As the result of an initial examination and collaborative discussion of his symptoms with the medical examiner, it is suspected that Dave's struggles were most likely worsened by dementia. This information sheds some light on contributing factors to his final chapter and provides a deeper understanding of the pain and discomfort he endured. In light of this, Dave's family is attempting to empathize with his struggles and find relief in that he is no longer in mental, emotional, or physical pain. It is one tough journey....
