Deborah Ann Lewis (née Batzler), of Wisconsin Dells, passed into eternal life with her Savior on March 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

A Service to Celebrate Deborah's Life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery (1584 Broadway Ave in Wisconsin Dells). A Fellowship luncheon will follow at Turn Point Pentecostal Church (659 Ellinwood Ave in Reedsburg).

Deborah was born on October 3, 1955, to Hilary and Joy Batzler. She was the first-born daughter and grew up alongside her four brothers, whom she loved dearly.

Family, faith, and community were the foundation of Deborah's life. After facing 11 years of infertility, she poured her love into the lives of her nieces and nephews, foster children, and so many others who needed care. When she was eventually blessed with children of her own, she treasured motherhood deeply and later found her greatest joy in caring for her grandchildren. Being present in their lives, loving them daily, and guiding them toward Christ was her greatest passion.

Deborah was known to many as Mom, Nana, and Aunt Debby. Her home and heart were always open. She homeschooled her children, helped raise and care for many others, and became a steady and loving presence to all who knew her.

She and her husband, James, founded Christian Bible Fellowship and opened their home for Bible studies in West Bend, WI, and wherever there were people in need of encouragement and truth. She lived her life with an unwavering hope in Jesus Christ and a desire to share that hope with others.

Alongside her mother, Joy, she founded Sunseed Natural Foods in West Bend during Joy's battle with cancer, as they sought alternative paths to healing. Deborah later continued the business with her husband, becoming a familiar and trusted presence in the West Bend community. She was also known and loved as a kindergarten teacher at Calvary Life Academy, where she poured into the lives of young children with patience, joy, and faith.

In Wisconsin Dells, Deborah was known as a devoted neighbor, a faithful friend, a volunteer, a Vacation Bible School teacher, and "Nana" to a community of children who loved her dearly.

Deborah is survived by her brother, Steven Batzler of Wisconsin Dells; her children, Elisha Betts of Hillpoint, Elisabeth Lewis, and David Lewis, both of Wisconsin Dells; her son-in-law, Nicholas Betts; Zachary Wilson, the father of her grandson, Asher; her cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Evalynn, Oliver, and Asher; she is further survived by her aunts, Lorelei, Mary, and Mary Ann; her uncles, Christ and Manny; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Her nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, especially Cade and Myranda, whom she cared for over many years and loved as her own. She also loved Nicholas, Natosha, Heather, Sarah, Anthony, Brandon, and Andrea dearly.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, James Robert Lewis; her brothers, Darryl, Craig, and Clayton; her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Evelyn Riffel; her paternal grandparents, Oscar and Loretta Batzler; her aunts, Faith and Dawn; and her uncles, John Paul, Harry, and King.

Her family is deeply grateful to the Dells-Delton EMS, the Kilbourn Fire Department, Med Flight, the UW Hospital Emergency Department, and Picha Funeral Home for their care, compassion, and support. They are also thankful for Turn Point Pentecostal Church in Reedsburg for welcoming her family with open arms and surrounding them with love.

Because of the faith she carried and the love that surrounded her, Deborah was able to run into the arms of Jesus Christ. She lived with eternal hope, and her journey now continues in Heaven.
