Dennis J. McDonald, age 75, of Wisconsin Dells, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Wisconsin Dells.
Dennis was born on March 26, 1951, in Clinton, IA, the son of Leroy and Mary (Stecklein) McDonald. Dennis spent his childhood outdoors, boating and exploring the Mississippi River. He graduated from St. Mary’s high school in 1969 and attended Mount St. Clare College, where he met the love of his life, Margaret “Maggie” Kelly. The two were married on June 9, 1973, and relocated to Maggie’s hometown of Wisconsin Dells. He later attended Cardinal Stritch College and earned a Bachelor Degree in business.
Dennis dedicated 30 years to Gerber Products Co., rising through the ranks to become Manufacturing Manager, a role in which he was highly respected for his strong work ethic and integrity. In retirement, he fulfilled his desire to slow down and give back to his community by doing maintenance work for the Easterseals, Camp Wawbeek.
An avid water-skier, snow skier, and boater, Dennis loved spending days on Okauchee Lake and skiing the mountains of Colorado. His greatest joy, however, was his family. Known for his quick wit, wisdom, and generous spirit, he left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his loving spouse of 53 years, Maggie; his children, Timothy McDonald and Kelly (Justin) Anderson; his grandson, August; his sister, Vickie Kuhlman and his brother, Michael McDonald as well as many other beloved relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Mary McDonald. His final resting place is at Calvary Cemetery in Wisconsin Dells, WI.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to UW Health Carbone Cancer Center.
