Derek Preston Carpenter, age 36, of Mauston, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Born on May 12, 1989, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Nona Rae Bieniek Carpenter and Randi Lee Carpenter. Derek was known for his warmth, humor, and boundless energy. He had a gift for making others feel welcome, a fierce loyalty to those he loved, and a knack for perfectly timed jokes. Derek was an avid soccer player and youth coach, a passionate cook with a bold hand for salt, and a fierce Packers fan. He had a deep love for travel, games, and spending time with his family. Derek married Katya in February 2020, and their time together was filled with laughter and love. He was a devoted uncle, a caring son, and a beloved brother.

Derek is survived by Katya; his mother, Nona; his siblings and in-laws Reid and Tasia, Maeghan and Joseph, Ceara and Korey; and nephews Cannon, Callen, and Jude. He was preceded in death by his father, Randi; his niece, Eleanor; and his cherished dog, Ecko.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. at Conway-Picha Funeral Home (450 County Road HH, Lyndon Station, WI 53944).
