Obituary

Don Hebbring, age 80, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 16, 2026, at his home.

A Funeral Mass for immediate family will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, beginning at 11:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells, WI, with Father Paul Ugo Arinze celebrating.

Don was born on February 7, 1946, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, the son of Howard and Evelyn (Fisher) Hebbring. He married Mary Ann Spuhler in 1972, and together they shared 54 years of love, laughter, tears, and countless stories. Don was an incredible father to his six children: Donny (Gen) Hebbring, Melissa Hebbring, Kari Hebbring, Tessa Hebbring, Jenna Hebbring, and Ashley (Tyler) Briggs, and he will be forever cherished by his six grandchildren: Eric, Marlee, Daisy, Benjamin, Ella, and Lucas.

Don was truly larger than life—someone who made an impression on everyone he met. He had a presence that filled a room, and it seemed like everyone knew him. His loud and spirited nature often brought laughter and entertainment, though those closest to him knew the deeper kindness and generosity that defined who he really was. Don would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Above all, he believed in enjoying life and encouraged others to do the same, often saying, "just have fun and don't care what other people think."

Don was a proud business owner, operating the Honey Bucket Saloon and the Hebbring Hotel for over 20 years. Through his work, he became a cornerstone of the Menomonee Falls community, sponsoring numerous softball leagues, fundraisers, and creating multiple programs for children with special needs. His dedication to the Menomonee Falls community did not go unnoticed, as Governor Tommy Thompson hosted a dinner in his honor.

He is further survived by his sister, Mary (Tom) Patza; his brother, Alan (Delana) Hebbring; and his brother, Larry (Marcia) Hebbring. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Evelyn Hebbring; his brother, Ron (Carol) Hebbring; his sister, Jeanne Carroll; brother-in-law, Edward Carroll; his brother, John (Karen) Hebbring; and his brother, Bobby Hebbring.

Don loved a good party, and in that spirit, his family is planning two celebrations of life in the communities he cherished most.

The first will be held the weekend of May 1, 2026, in Menomonee Falls, with a second gathering planned for late summer in the Wisconsin Dells. These celebrations will be open to a broader circle of family and friends, as the Funeral Mass will be reserved for immediate family. Additional details will be shared as they become available.

Don was an advocate for caring for others with special needs, supporting local parks, and advocacy groups. If you would like to donate money in his honor, in lieu of flowers, please donate to one of the below organizations on his behalf:
