Don was born on August 30, 1944, the son of Herman Carl Labrenz and Rozella Amelia (Oeftger) Labrenz, in Lewiston, WI, at the home of his grandparents.
Don married Barbara Lynne Guildner in 1965 and shortly after he purchased his grandparents' ancestral home where he raised his family.
