Eric Bosshard, known to family as Rick, age 77, passed away the morning of September 16, 2026, in Lake Delton, Wisconsin, amongst family.

Born August 22, 1949, to Ross and Belle Bosshard in Sigourney, Iowa. Eric is survived by his younger brothers Christopher (Maureen) and Glen Bosshard (Dawn), former sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bosshard, his nieces, Jennifer Bosshard and Brianna Agriesti, his nephews, Craig and Cameron Bosshard, his great nieces, Alyssa and Sophia Bosshard, and Diana, Mabel, and Zelda Agriesti, and his great nephews, Nicholas and Alexander Bosshard, and his 9 beloved cats.

Eric, an adventurer at heart, lived life on his own terms, which began at the tender age of 17, when he made the fateful decision one miserably cold day in Labrador, Canada, to set off on his own. Without telling a soul, he booked a flight back to the States, leaving his family in the frozen tundra of Canada. That moment marked the beginning of his adventure called life solely mastered by him. Eric’s adventurous nature led him to Europe, where he trekked the countryside, and he indulged his passion for sailing. Eric, an experienced sailor, fearlessly navigated the ocean on his sailboat, the Lorelei, even surviving a hurricane that sunk a slew of other vessels. His passion for boats and sailing never waiver throughout his life, and reached the pinnacle of happiness in Pentwater, Michigan, at Sail Point Marina, where he co-managed the family Marina with his parents, and with his help the business was expanded and thrived. After the loss of the Marina, he found himself starting over, which brought him to the Shelby Gem Factory, in Shelby, MI, where he helped pioneer technologies we take for granted today. Eventually, Eric’s entrepreneurial spirit won out and he established ABCO Builders and has been a contractor ever since.

Eric will be greeted at the pearly gates by his loving mother and cat, Sneeze, and may he enjoy endless days sailing Heaven’s oceans. He will be missed by those that truly knew him.
