Gabriel “Gabby” Funmaker, Noocanaaz~i, “Stands Straight”, a proud member of the Bear Clan, age 50 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin walked on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 Noon at Indian Heights Community Building with Clayton Winneshiek officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be at Indian Heights Cemetery.Gabriel was born December 31, 1975 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the son of Monica Funmaker. He was raised by his grandparents Kenneth Sr. and Ruby “Keahna” Funmaker. He started singing at a young age with his Cooka, Teegas and brother with the Wisconsin Dells singers and grew up dancing and singing at the Stand Rock Indian Ceremony. Later he started his own drum group “Bear Heart Singers” in honor of his late Teega Nelson “Bear Heart” Funmaker. Gabby was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan.He is survived by his wife Kelly; sons Fabian (Abbi) Houghton, Bryson (Mya), Damian, Rylan, and Kenneth Funmaker; daughter, Keirria Funmaker; brothers, Damon Funmaker and David Sherwood along with grandchildren, Jordyn, Cameron and Kyler; his adopted mother, Kay Waseskuk and his comfort dog “Haakzimiik”. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, along with his Naani, Pamela Winneshiek.The Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lake Delton, Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements.
