Glen Schroeder, age 83 of Germantown Township, Juneau County, Wisconsin passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance shared at 5:00 p.m. at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin.
Glen was born December 9, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Harvey and Irene (Reichmann) Schroeder. Glen served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1963 and was honorably discharged. In February of 1999, he married Dianne Matezevich in Mauston, Wisconsin. For many years Glen was the proud owner and operator of SelecTemp Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration. He enjoyed communicating with others via Ham radio all over the world. He and Judy began having annual pig roasts at St. Glen's Campground for the SelecTemp customers but the first pig roast was for Glen and Judy's kids to meet. One of his primary goals was to help his customers and anyone else who needed his help. His main passion was his love of music, specifically the Crucianelli accordion and Baldwin organ. He couldn't read music and played strictly by ear. Glen was also lovingly called "MacGyver" by his brother Jim and sister-in-law Kathy because he could figure out and fix anything.
Glen is survived by his fiancé, Judy Oens; the mother of his children, Petra Rogge, their children: Larry (Jenny) Schroeder, Sandra (Mark) Behringer and Jacqueline (Kurt) Jeske; step-children, Cindy (Roger) Baumeister and Mark (Kally) Matezevich; grandchildren, Aaron (Vicky) Maier, Brian Maier, Dylan (Amanda) Behringer, Ashley Schroeder, Alec (Lindsay) Behringer, Megan Schroeder, Randall Jeske; great grandchildren, Lucas, Amelia, Beau Issac and Reileigh; a brother, Jim (Kathy) Schroeder; and Judy's children, Jim, Jerry, John and Cindy and families.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne; his parents; and his stepfather, Harry "Happy" Morgenroth. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
