Jacqueline was born December 30, 1940 in Madison, Wisconsin the daughter of George and Genevieve (Hoven) Patzer. She graduated from Central High School in Madison and later met the love of her life, Ira Overland whom she married in June of 1960. They lived in Madison, WI until 1981 when they built a house and moved to Wisconsin Dells. She spent most of her life working in healthcare, working as Dr. Schroder's (oncologist) assistant, or as the office manager for Continental Manor nursing home in Wisconsin Dells. Later on, she transitioned and retired from Meadowbrook Resort, a place where she made life-long friendships.
As a semi-finalist in the Miss Madison Pageant, she radiated elegance and charm, but her greatest accomplishments were found in the joy she brought to those around her. She had a love for bowling, shooting pool and playing cards, always up for a friendly game and a good laugh. An artist at heart, she poured her talent into painting and drawing, yet set aside her personal passions to dedicate herself to raising a family. Her most cherished artistic work lives on at Meadowbrook Resort in Wisconsin Dells, where she freehanded the beautifully detailed walls surrounding the children's waterpark, an enduring testament to her talent that continues to please visitors today. Jacci loved to sew and crochet, finding joy in each stitch and creation. She had a passion for crafting, always eager to bring something beautiful to life with her hands. Her warmth and generosity extended beyond her art. A lifelong Elvis fan, she found joy in his music, always humming along to her favorite songs. She was also a devoted Den Leader for Scouts, guiding and inspiring young minds with her encouragement and leadership. Jacci lived a life full of creativity, passion, and unlimited love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Jacci is survived by her sons, Ira C. (Stacy) Overland of Wisconsin Dells and Erik (Misha) Overland of Pardeeville; daughter Robin (Todd) Matson of Poynette; grandchildren, Ryan, Caitlin, Dane, Nadia, Nathan, Erin, Andrew, Kyle and Serina and great-grandchildren, Addison, Rose, Owen and Ethan. Jacci is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and her extended family whom she considered her own sons and daughters. She loved her family deeply and took great joy in being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ira O. Overland, son Owen J. Overland, her sister Sandra Huseby, her brother Ronald P. Schaefer, daughter- in-law, Kim and a very special friend, Beverly Vick-Shealy.
The family extends their heartfelt "Thank you!" to all who supported Jacci and continue to honor her memory. Special gratitude sent to Sienna Meadows Memory Care staff who cared for her deeply.
