James Picha, age 79, of Verona, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026.

A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin.

James was born March 22, 1946 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin the son of Ernest and Dorothy (Baley) Picha.

James (Jim) was raised in Hillsboro, Wisconsin. He joined the US Navy after high school and met his wife, Norma, in the Philippines. They moved back to Wisconsin where he spent most of his career working as a superintendent for the University of Wisconsin Charter Street Heating Plant.

Jim was a family man that was happiest in the woods hunting or fishing in Canada. In his later years he loved traveling the world with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Norma; sons, Eric (Summer), Ryan (Anne Beckman); daughter Samantha Spooner; sister Melissa Picha, along with 5 grandchildren, McKinley, Oliver, Palmer, Westin and Addison. He is preceded by his parents and sister Jane.
