James "Jim" Stomner, age 82 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at his residence.

Jim was born August 26, 1941 in Reedsburg, Wisconsin the son of Charles and Dorothy (Krueger) Stomner. Jim embarked on his journey into hairdressing at the age of 19 and continued refining his skills throughout his life. He owned a popcorn stand that he worked to help pay his way through beauty school. He opened La Petite Salon, which operated for over 56 years. He worked next to his sister Sally, brother-in-law Jim, and many other wonderful stylists during his tenure. One of his favorite things was decorating the shop for each season. Everyone will always remember the flair and elegance Jim and Sally could deliver for each holiday. Jim's charm and charisma extended beyond his scissors. He possessed a warmth and humor that instantly put people at ease, creating an atmosphere of trust and camaraderie in his salon. His clients became friends, and his friends became family.

In his spare time, Jim loved to host dinner parties in his backyard pool lagoon with the hippest kitchen gadgets. He also loved to go out to eat at all the supreme supper clubs we are blessed to have here in the Dells. Some of his favorite vacations were to Las Vegas where he loved to see the live shows. He also adored visiting Door County. He would often take trips to different cities for conventions to help bring in new products and he always wanted to be up on the latest trends. He had many people he cherished as close friends, but it is fair to say that his brother-in-law Jim became one of the closest over the years. He had so much love to give, he even shared it with a few dogs that were great companions. He had a knack for telling a good joke and his laughter was contagious. His years at La Petite Salon were full of endless laughter, countless friendships, and timeless dedication.

He leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will remember him not only for his talent, but for his kindness and devotion. His memory will live on in the countless heads of hair he transformed and the smiles he brought to faces.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Jim as an artist, a friend, and a beloved brother. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Jim is survived by his sister, Sally (James) McGowan; nephew, Casey (Amanda) McGowan and their children, Megan and Macy. He was preceded in death by his parents.
