Jeanne "Gigi" (Starr) Voigt, age 81, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin was welcomed into paradise by her Savior on the morning of January 17, 2025. She was surrounded by many who loved her as she set off on her new adventure. Welcoming her into paradise was her loving husband, pal and best friend Boyd "Bumpa" Voigt; her parents, Darrel and Dorothy Starr, her in laws William and Bessie Voigt, brothers-in-law, William, Robert, Benny and Bruce Voigt; and sisters-in-law Betty, Bonnie and Beverly.

A memorial service for Jeanne will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station with Pastor Alan Boeck presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Rose Cemetery in the township of Lemoweir.

Jeanne was born on July 17, 1943 in Sturgeon Bay, WI. She graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1961 and attended classes at UW Madison. She was a stay-at-home mother until her children started school, when she began her career as a secretary for a local insurance agent in Beloit, WI. When that office closed, Jeanne began working at Midwest Directories, where she learned type setting. After retiring for a couple of years to care for her mother, Jeanne returned to the workforce by taking a job doing type setting at the Beloit Daily News.

Jeanne and her husband, Boyd, were long time members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI, where Jeanne served for many years as the "flower lady". When she and her husband retired to Lyndon Station, WI, they joined St. Luke's Lutheran Church, where Jeanne once again served as the "flower lady" until she left for her Heavenly home.

Jeanne was married to her best friend, Boyd Voigt on July 24, 1965. They made an amazing life for their children in Beloit, WI before retiring to Lyndon Station, WI in 2013. Jeanne loved her house on the hill overlooking the Lemonweir River. She and Boyd enjoyed sitting at the table, drinking their morning coffee and watching the river as it changed from season to season. She was known for the stunning pictures she took of wildlife, especially of the beautiful ice formations on the river during the winter. She also loved walking on the banks of the river, paddle boating, kayaking, and engaging in many creative and artistic endeavors. Jeanne's love language was definitely food! If you ever came to visit her, she would cook and bake such a large variety of treats you wouldn't know where to begin. In a world of texting and emails, Jeanne preferred to send letters and cards and would always remember to reach out to you on your birthday, if you were ill or had been through a hard time. She quietly lived out her faith by engaging in acts of service and kindness behind the scenes, never revealing her acts. If you were having a hard time making ends meet, you might find someone anonymously left you groceries in your car while you were at work, no note, no name. She never let on she was doing these things and was only discovered accidentally by her family. Jeanne loved to regale her family with stories of her mischief-making and wild adventures with her childhood friend, Peggy (O'Boyle) Moore. Jeanne was an avid sports fan and faithfully cheered on the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and all UW Sports teams. She was a particularly enthusiastic Badger Basketball fan, and often reminisced about attending games with her friend Rhonda Richards when she attended classes there. Over the past year, Jeanne became hen mother to a brood of chickens that her great-grandchildren helped her raise and would sit and visit with them for hours at a time, even reading to them. But Jeanne's true joy was her family! Jeanne was the proud mother of her son, Jeffrey Voigt and her favorite daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Schwind) Voigt; Daughter, Wendy (Voigt) Petitt and her favorite son-in-law, Shawn Petitt.

If you met Jeanne even only once, you knew about her grandchildren. She couldn't help it, Danielle (Voigt) Semenchuck and her husband, Alex Semenchuck; Noah Voigt; Noelle Voigt and her fiance, Jacob Becker; Jonah Voigt and Micah Voigt were her pride and joys. But if you thought she adored and doted on them, then you really needed to see her with her great-grandchildren, Callista and Christopher Semenchuck, who provided her with endless amusement and love.

Others who Jeanne adored and who will sadly miss her until they meet again are her loving brother and sister-in-law, John and Jean Starr of Greendale, WI., her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Barry and Marcia Voigt; her sister-in-law Bertha Voigt; numerous nieces and nephews and her family by choice, long-time neighbors and dear friends, Donna and Richard Woock, whose children, Jason and Vickie she loved like her own.

The family would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to ALL the staff, CNA's, Doctors and Nurses at the Mile Bluff Medical Center's Critical Care unit who provided Jeanne with such loving care and became family to us all during her lengthy stay there.

In closing, Jeanne would like all of you to know that she loves you, AND she likes you and remember not to go kicking acorns because it just won't end well!
