Obituary

John William Brady passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 1st, 2024. He was born in Valparaiso, IN, on October 10th, 1928, to the late Benjamin & Hilda Mae (Poole) Brady.

Visitation for John will be on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Conway-Picha Funeral Home from 12:30 until 2:30 P.M. A graveside service will take place following the visitation at the Lyndon Station Village Cemetery.

John was the devoted husband of the late Bernice L. (Beiers) Brady. He was the loving father of Thomas Scott Brady & Dennis Christopher (Doreen) Brady. A cherished grandfather to Kellie (Aric) Smith, Matthew Brady, Constance (Anthony) San Pietro, Jonathan (Marissa Grant) Brady, and Angela (Nicholas) Hayman. A beloved Great-Grandfather of 6 and a fond brother, uncle, and friend to many.

John started working in the busy truck loading docks as a child in Chicago, IL. Where he would meet his wife, Bernice. John and Bernice married on August 28th, 1949. They would travel, making memories across the United States & Canada together, camping, hunting, and fishing.  John and Bernice lived happily in their home in Round Lake Beach, IL, with their 2 sons Thomas and Dennis. In 1958 John started his lifelong career as a heavy equipment mechanic with Frank J. Hough in Libertyville, IL, and retired from there in 1988. Once retired, he lived happily on the family farm in Lyndon Station, WI. Where he cared for many animals over the years and met a great number of friends. John loved to watch old western movies and football on Sunday's, play ball with his dog Kandy, bird watch, and most of all, spending time with family and friends.
