Joseph Jan Kurowski, age 71 of rural Mauston, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Friday, November 11, 2022 at his residence.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Conway Picha Funeral Home, 450 County HH, Lyndon Station, on Wednesday from 9 to 11:15 a.m. and then go in procession to the church.

Joseph was born in Jaslo, Poland on September 5, 1951. Beloved son of the late Julian and Janina (Kedzior) Kurowski. Beloved husband to Albina. The best father to Mariusz (Agnieszka) and Marcy (Jacek). The best loving Dziadek Joe to Michael, Matthew, Joanna, and Joseph. Beloved brother of the late Stanislaw (Maria) and Zbigniew (Zofia). Fond cousin, uncle, and friend to many. Joseph grew up in Dabrowka, a small village near Jaslo, Poland.  Joe was a man full of courage and ambition.  In 1984, to provide a better life for his family, Joe left his entire life as he knew it in Poland, and came to the United States, to open the door to freedom and opportunity for his children. Joe was a successful business man who opened the best known Polish Delis in Chicago such as Joe's Butcher Store on Western Avenue and Kurowski Sausage Shop on Milwaukee Avenue. Joe was a person with a big heart. People could always rely on him for help. As families moved to the United States, Joe was there to help them find apartments, get settled, and find jobs. Joe knew that the best gift in life you can give to another person is that of a helping hand. Words cannot express the pain we are feeling with his loss. Our hearts are comforted by our faith in Jesus.  Rest in peace!
