Joyce Penland, Wiirakara "Guarding Stars", age 85, of Poynette, Wisconsin, walked on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin with Clayton Winneshiek officiating. Burial will be at Poynette Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Conway Picha Funeral Home on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.

Joyce was born May 4, 1940 in Tomah, Wisconsin the daughter of Willis and Eureka (Decorah) Winneshiek.

She is survived by her sons, Curtis (Lynn) Penland Jr., Michael (Roxanne) Penland, Joseph (Renee) Penland; daughters, Debra (Donald) Morgan and Deanna Penland; brothers, Edward (Phyllis) Winneshiek and Anthony (Connie) Winneshiek, along with 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett, daughter Patricia, sister Ida Whitebear and grandson Jacob Morgan.
