Obituary

Karla Louise Linn, age 74, of Wisconsin Dells, WI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 17, 2023, with her husband of 53 years beside her.

Karla was born on February 22, 1949, in La Crosse, WI the daughter of Howard and Esther (Christensen) Poehling. Her family moved to Madison where she grew up with her three siblings and later went to Madison West High School. Karla married her high school sweetheart and together they moved to Wurzburg, Germany where her husband was stationed in the service.

In 1978, Karla, her husband and two daughters moved to a log cabin style home outside of the Dells. Karla loved her home and enjoyed riding her beloved horses on their land. She worked at the Wisconsin Dells Visitor and Convention Bureau for many years and made many close friends while she was there.

In addition to her horses Karla enjoyed raising many pets of all kinds. Some of her favorite things included fires in the fireplace, knitting, beating friends and family at Scrabble, her vast collection of plants and flowers, rooting for the Badgers and Packers, and spending time in Northern Wisconsin with her family up at Sugar Camp Lake. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and having family over for weekend visits, homemade fish frys, and holiday meals. She specialized in making crepes and krumkake cookies and celebrated her Danish heritage by taking a trip to Copenhagen, Denmark. Karla took countless fishing trips to Canada with her husband and daughter and took many road trips out west to national parks.

Karla was a loving and steadfast support for her two daughters. They will forever cherish her love, memories, and traditions.

Karla is survived by her husband, Rob, her children; Jennifer (Chad) Joswiak and Molly (Eric) Linn-Miller and her five grandsons'; Vincent, Casey, Tory, Jonah and Owen as well as her sassy couch companion puppy, Frankie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Patti and Jacquie and her beloved horses and other pets.
