Larry Bernard
Thomas
Jul 17, 1952 — Nov 30, 2024
Mauston
Larry Thomas, age 72 of Mauston, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family on November 30, 2024.
A memorial service for Larry will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Conway-Picha Funeral Home in Lyndon Station, WI. at 10:00 am with Pastor Wilke presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Larry was born on July 17, 1952 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Bernard and Betty (Parrish) Thomas. Larry spent 29 years with his loving wife Dawn, whom he wed on May 20, 2011. Larry took immense pride in his family and enjoyed gatherings and time spent with his loved ones. He enjoyed the simple things in life including country music, horse shoes, fishing, and shooting pool. Larry was a huge Elvis Presley fan and had a large collection of memorabilia displayed throughout his home. One of his favorites was his Elvis cuckoo clock which played a different tune each hour. Larry would often say to Dawn, "oops, Elvis just left the building until the next hour" when a tune would finish playing. Larry was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and was able to enjoy his first game at Lambeau Field this September alongside his family. Larry made a career working for Mastermold in Mauston. Upon his retirement he decided to work for Festival Foods where he enjoyed keeping busy and socializing. Larrys' coworkers were like family to him.
Larry is survived by his wife Dawn, son Chad (Megan) Fiske, daughters Beth (Matt) Rodwell and Crystal Weber. He is further survived by his brothers Bob (Theresa) Thomas and Sam Thomas, sisters Sandy (Dan) Spooner and Nancy (Denny) Jensen. Larry will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Lincoln Fiske, Blake Read, Daisy Ortiz, Adrian Ortiz, Kayley Huss, Lily Huss and Kyle Weber, as well as many other relatives and friends. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Thomas, sister Wanda Giebel, and grandson Jacob Weber. The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care of Larry in his final days. They would also like to thank Mile Bluff Medical Center, and UW Oncology.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials made to the family would be much appreciated.
