Leroy Milton
Zimmerman
May 28, 1937 — Nov 1, 2025
Briggsville
LeRoy Zimmerman, age 88, of Briggsville, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 and is now residing in his eternal home, Heaven.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Matt Gehrke officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00.
LeRoy was born May 28, 1937 in Briggsville, Wisconsin the son of Edward and Elaine (Goodhue) Zimmerman. He was raised on the family farm and worked alongside his family, while hauling milk with his brother, Sheldon. In 1959, LeRoy joined the U.S. Navy and served until 1966. In the Navy he served on a nuclear submarine, the USS Scorpion, from 1962-1966. The Scorpion was lost with all hands on May 22, 1968, and he was devastated by the many friends that went on eternal patrol that day. In 1965, LeRoy married his beautiful and loving wife, Marge and was blessed with two sons, Mark and David. His love for the Lord Jesus Christ was the most important thing to him. For most of LeRoy's life, he was a semi-truck driver and worked hard for many long hours to support his family. He cherished spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he dearly loved. His many joys in life included being involved at Trinity Lutheran Church, involved with the Briggsville American Legion Post #329, tinkering with his beloved John Deere tractors, going fishing, drinking chocolate malts from Culver's, and working out in the yard on most weekends (leaving little room for rest for Mark and David).
LeRoy is survived by his sons, Mark (Annette) and David (Chelsea Moore-Zimmerman); 4 grandchildren, Brandon (Stacey) Zimmerman, Jennifer (Mike) Percy, Zoey and Dawson Zimmerman; 2 great-grandchildren, Brooks Percy and Jaxson Zimmerman, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margery, brother Sheldon and sister Joyce Warr.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells, WI or the Briggsville American Legion Post #329.
