Obituary

Leslie Bremer, age 81, of Lake Delton, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Dells with Rev. Matt Gehrke and Vicar Travis Galle officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, starting at 12:00 Noon.

Les was born April 18, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Helmuth and Dorothy (Schroeder) Bremer. His family moved to the Lake Delton area where he attended elementary and high school. During his high school summers Les ran a "Ski School" on Lake Delton teaching area visitors how to water ski. He was a talented water skier and could ski barefoot, slalom, on shoe skis and over ski jumps.

On May 2nd, 1964 he married his high school sweetheart Bonnie (Nagel) Bremer. After high school, Les worked in his father's cabinet shop in Milwaukee. He brought those carpentry skills with him to the Dells/Delton area and established Freeway Lumber Company in Lake Delton, building many properties in the area, including "Noahs Ark".

Les and Bonnie owned and operated several businesses throughout the years, which led Les to his involvement with the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau. With the Bureau, he spent many years developing and generating events that would help grow the area to a year-round destination. Off season events like "FlakeOut" and "Automotion" were part of that development.

Les was a Lake Delton volunteer firefighter and EMT for many years and he served on the Lake Delton Village Board for over 30 years. This ability to serve his community gave him great purpose in life.

The greatest joy in Les's life, was his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren either at their home in Lake Delton, watching their sporting events or on the annual family vacations to Siesta Key.

Les is survived by his wife Bonnie, son Michael; daughters, Jackie Houston, Dana Bremer (Dale) and Noelle Anderson (Heath); brothers, Paul (Susan) and Bob Bremer. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren, Tom, Hannah, Brady, Jacob, Ythan, Fletcher, and Josie. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack and Norbert and sister Sandra Winnes.
