Lucille was born March 28, 1937 on the family farm, in New Haven Township, WI, the daughter of Stewart and Lona (Smith) Mitchell. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1955 and began her over 60-year career at Riverview Boat Line where her responsibilities encompassed scheduling, bookkeeping, audits and office manager. It was during this time, she met the love of her life Kenneth Foster. They married on October 7, 1967 and the couple enjoyed 55 years of marriage and raised 3 wonderful daughters. Lucille was an avid bowler and enjoyed sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren. She began playing the piano/organ in her teens. She enjoyed playing the piano at Davis Corners Methodist Church and was the organist at Holy Cross Episcopal Church where she also served as a member of the Vestry.

Lucille was devoted to her family and used any opportunity; big or small, to gather together. She always looked forward to the Smith Family reunion and the opportunity to reconnect with family. Christmas was her favorite holiday where she enjoyed the colorful lights and Christmas carols. After Lucille retired, she enjoyed reading to the students in her great-granddaughter's classroom at the Yahara River Learning Center in DeForest.

Lucille is survived by her daughters, Lori (David) Sies, Michelle (Brian) Metcalfe, and Melanie Foster; her grandchildren, Katherine "Katie" (Edwin) Davy and Briana (Jacob) Faber and great-granddaughter Everleigh Mae Davy. She is also survived by her sister Lila (James) Elliott in addition to nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband Kenneth.
