Obituary

Our mother, Lucille Agnes Reinfeldt, was called to her Eternal Home on May 8, 2026, at home, surrounded by her children.

Lucille was born on March 28, 1931, a daughter to Joseph and Amelia (Wagner) Krayer in Wood County, Wisconsin Rapids. Being the youngest of 6, she developed a very close and competitive bond with all her siblings while growing up during the Great Depression. This era developed her frugal mantra, "Waste not, want not," which she honored every day of her life. She was committed to her family and to her siblings, keeping communication alive by daily texts right up to the end!

On October 7, 1950, she married Darrell Reinfeldt in a double wedding at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg, with her brother Butch (Donna). Darrell & Lucille became members of the church thereafter. Lucille worked for many years at Seats, then spent the next 20+ years as a CNA for the Sauk County Healthcare Center. Finding that helping others was a fulfilling and worthwhile profession, she ventured out on her own to offer private, in-home care to families in need within the Reedsburg area.

Lucille had a deep respect and love for our Lord and Savior. She had a great love of nature and of all animals, especially Kylie, her latest & most faithful companion. It seems God has had a plan all along for them, as He has also called Kylie to remain at her side on their journey Home. Mom had a nurturing green thumb for flowers and gardening as well as an undeniable need to clean. She was dutifully organized and ensured everything had its place. Mom was also a lil bit sneaky, always being the first one to make an inconspicuous hole in the bottom of the assorted Christmas chocolates to ensure she got her favorites before anyone else had a chance! One Christmas, she even carefully unwrapped the easily identified "present" under the tree to eat a couple of those chocolates. She wrapped it back up ever so carefully and pretended to be just as surprised as the rest of the family that there were missing chocolates in that box!

There are many things we will miss about our mother. Her constant worry for everyone but herself, and of course, the countless embarrassing stories of odiferous encounters over the years, which brought uncontrollable laughter to all in the midst. (If You Know, You Know!)

Lucille is survived by her children: Cheryl J. Robinson, Michael J. Reinfeldt, and Julie A. (Robert) Sweet. Grandchildren: Katina (Jeremy) Makaela, James (Diana) Robinson, Daniel (Jody) Robinson, and Joseph Robinson. Step Grandchildren: Jodi (Leroy) Hillmer, Jessica (Derek) LaVigne, and Jennifer Butler. Great-Grandchildren: Joshua, Brianna, Ashley, Bentley, & Dylan. Step Great-Grandchildren: Leo, and Bentley. She is also survived by her older brother Wilbur (Butch) (Dorothy) Krayer, numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. Preceding her in death: Her husband Darrell in 2002, her parents, and siblings: Bernard (Harriet) Krayer, Arlene (Ted) Peasall, LaVerne (Gilbert) Dorow, Dorothy (Rollo) Zimmerman and Son-in-Law: Dean Robinson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:30 am at St Peter's Ev Lutheran Church in Reedsburg, with Pastor Paul Crolius celebrating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:30. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mom lived her life her way. In strict control, fiercely independent, incredibly strong, and adamantly committed to her health. May the Lord and those patiently waiting, welcome her to her heavenly home. May she forever Rest In Peace.

Lucille's family would like to give special thanks to Karen, who has been a faithful and caring aide for the past 3+ years, Margaret, who recently and graciously stepped in for additional assistance, and the Agrace Hospice Care team, who worked tirelessly to keep her comfortable in her final days.

May God bless you all!
