Lyle Andrew Ebsen, age 95, of Wisconsin Dells, died peacefully on June 30th, 2026 at Riverwoods Eagle's Nest Senior Living.

Born on January 11th, 1931, in Easton, WI to Lois and Harry, and raised in Adams, Lyle was one of five boys. As a child he enjoyed playing clarinet and violin in his family band. He shared many stories of learning in a one-room schoolhouse, walking to and from each day. He graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School, class of 1949.

Lyle met his wife Julia (Kipper) on a blind date. They spent many weekends camping, many weeknights playing cards with friends, and competing in singles and couples bowling leagues as often as they could. Lyle and Julia were married for 65 years, setting an example for his family on how to love and care for someone, and to be selfless. Lyle and Julia had two daughters, Terry and Shari. He adored them. His legacy continued as he had 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Lyle was his family's steady. Calm-natured and present.

Lyle worked at Bou Matic in Madison for 41 years and drove 5 days a week from the Dells. He started as a welder and grew to become a member of the research and development team, even getting his own patent. He proudly retired in 1996 and turned his focus to his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. Lyle never missed a game or event that his grandchildren were in. He would drop everything to help his daughters and sons-in-law and to witness his grandkids, and eventually great grandkids.

He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, crafting, cooking, and manning the pig roast for the Sportman's Club. You could find him most weekends, with his brother Kenny, buying and selling antique tools at flea markets and auctions.

As he grew older, he watched The Brew Crew on TV, golfed, photographed nature, and built handmade gifts for his family. He was creative and never let a day pass without working with his hands. Those who knew him, loved and respected him. Lyle will be greatly missed by many.

Lastly, what Lyle particularly loved was the Brewers. Yes, he loved the Packers and Badgers too, but the soundtrack of his life was Bob Ueckers voice playing from an AM radio. If you'd like, please wear your Brewers gear or any Wisconsin sporting attire to the services.

Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Harry, his brothers Lester, Harold, and Kenny, and his wife, Julia.

Lyle is survived by his daughters Terry Loomis and Shari Nelson, their spouses Dale and Todd, his grandkids Todd Jr., Travis (Megan), Natasha (Cory), Ashley (Caleb), Alissa (Bob), Kelly (Louis), and Katie (Cameron). His great-grandchildren Cecelia, Todd III, Nelson, Ace, Sawyer, Fletcher, Caleb, Graham, Lyle, Sullivan, Amelia, Paisley, Mikey, Khloe, Sophie, Mia, and Emmersyn.

Services to be held on Monday, July 6th, 2026 at Trappers Turn Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells. Visitation from 9:00-11:00. Service at 11:00 with brunch to follow. Burial at Lake Delton Cemetery after brunch.
