Obituary

Marie Boerner, of the Wisconsin Dells Area, age 84, passed away peacefully on April 13th, 2024. She was born on June 13th, 1939, in Chicago, the daughter of Frank and Victoria (Duda) Trelinski.

Marie moved to the Dells at 14 and graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School in 1957. Her first marriage was to Jack Tucker. She later married "Mr. Floyd" Boerner on New Year's Eve 1978. Together they raised her five children, providing a safe, loving, and stable home to their children and their friends. They enjoyed many happy years together until Floyd's passing in 2004. From then on, New Year's Eve became a special tradition for Marie's local grandchildren to join her and celebrate with movies, treats, and a sleepover at Grandma's house. Marie was a hard-working mother and was employed by Uphoffs/Kahler's Best Western, Riverview Boat Lines, and her last job, as a customer service representative at Walmart in Baraboo. She was employed there for 35 years, retiring when she was 82. She loved the social aspect of working in customer service and the relationships that she forged. Marie never knew a stranger because she became a friend to everyone she met throughout her life. Marie truly never missed a chance to socialize, often seen attending events involving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always cheered the loudest for her family, loved them all dearly, and loved to celebrate their accomplishments. She loved to take trips to visit her family and friends when she was able, traveling to Missouri, Indiana, Florida, and Maryland, just to name a few. Marie was an avid book reader, she loved to discuss history, politics, fashion, and food. She also enjoyed embroidery, and making handmade gifts for her family when she was able to.

She had a zest for life that will always be remembered. Marie was a proud, lifelong member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells. She loved God, and when Marie said that she would pray for someone, she truly meant it. Marie was so proud of her large and growing family. She never forgot to call any of them on their birthdays. She is survived by her five children: Avery (Lisa) Tucker, Frank (Barbara) Tucker, Victoria (John) Mayers, Jennifer (Jim) Rodwell, and Peter (Renee) Tucker. Her eleven grandchildren: Steven Tucker, Jill (Cody) Childs, Christopher (Danielle) Mayers, Carmen Mayers, Nolan (Maria) Tucker, Hannah (Nate) Tucker, Danielle (Jesse) Kangas, Rebecca (Wesley) Apple, Elizabeth (Bryce) Vitucci, Stephanie (Andrew) Boyd, and Nick Tucker. She is further survived by her seven great-grandchildren, Sienna, Camilla, Calvin, Parker, Jack, Marlee, and Jena.

She is preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Floyd, and siblings Joe Trelinski, Honey Phelps, Victoria Hueston, Frank Trelinski, and Emily Erickson.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Dove Health Care in Lodi, Wisconsin for giving our mother such a kind, caring, and loving community to live in; UW Health Care Trauma and Life Support for helping us and our mom thru her transition to her next adventure in Heaven.

Marie was a recipient of a kidney donor and a survivor of that donation for over 21 years, surpassing medical expectations. Because of organ donation, we were able to have our mother, grandma, friend, and great-grandma around for many years. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks you to please consider being an organ donor and giving the gift of life to someone else's loved one.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells on Friday, April 26, 2024. Visitation from 10:00 am- 11:00 am. Mass will begin at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be held immediately following Mass at Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
