Mary Betancourt, age 80, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 27, 2024 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo surrounded by her loving family.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Fr. John Blewett celebrating. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following the mass. There will not be any formal visitation so please arrive to church right before 10:00 AM for mass to start on time.

Mary was born on January 6, 1944, in Texas, the daughter of Jose and Josephine (Medina) Castillo. She grew up in La Feria, Texas, and relocated to Chicago Heights, Illinois, where she raised her family with her husband, Joe Betancourt. Once Joe retired, they moved to Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, where they enjoyed a beautiful life together. She loved her family, her friends, her many god children, her faith, St. Jude, the casino, trips to Texas, but most of all, she adored her dog, Matilda.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Desi (Santos) Garcia and Roxane Betancourt; sons, Joe Betancourt, Daniel Betancourt, and TJ (Lyndzey) Betancourt; nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jose, daughter Oneida Sable Betancourt, and son Cornelio "Corky" Betancourt.
