Mary E. Edmonds, age 97, of Wisconsin Dells, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 31, 2025. With the help of her family, she was able to stay in her home until the time of her passing.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Mary was born March 28, 1928, in Mauston, WI, the daughter of James Harold and Elizabeth (Clark) Lambert. She attended school in Wisconsin Dells and Mauston, graduating a year early. She worked as a telephone operator. She married Harley Edmonds in November of 1950. They raised 7 children together. They enjoyed each other and their many adventures, until he passed in 1987.
Mary was a member of St. Cecilia's Parish, River Valley Saddle Club, Madison Area Ski Club. She was a Cub Scout Leader and a Catechism Teacher. She was an excellent skier and enjoyed her trips to Europe and Colorado. She especially enjoyed her trips to Arapaho Basin in Aspen. After Harleys passing, she worked as "The Gift Shop Lady" at Yogi Bear Campground for many years. Mary enjoyed travel and road trips with her friend Eleanor and her many cousins. She attended many Packer Games. Mary loved bird watching, reading, Jeopardy and boating. Mary and Harley attended family and school events for their children and grandchildren, including track meets, football games, horse shows and concerts.
Mary is survived by her children, Joseph (Patricia), Elizabeth (Robert), James, Paul (Karen) and Joanne; her grandchildren, Shawn (Alex), Tim Kelly, Ben and Logan Edmonds, Rosemary, Jeannie and Lyra Suddard; her great-grandchild, Liam Kelly. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Marge Lambert and her family; her daughter-in-law, Peggy Edmonds as well as many friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Beth; husband, Harley; sons, Donald and Thomas; siblings, James Lambert, John Lambert and Alice Rihn and her in-laws, Jess and Bell Edmonds.
