Mary Puetz, age 88, of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at Fairview Nursing Home in Mauston, Wisconsin.

The Memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lyndon Station with Father Cryton Outschoorn celebrating. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Mary was born April 29, 1937 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, the daughter of Otto and Margaret (Kline) Rieth. Mary attended two years of college and married her high school sweetheart, Thomas J. Puetz at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna on February 13, 1958. They had three children and celebrated 64 years of marriage together. In 1966 they decided to make their home in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. Mary was a homemaker until she found the job she loved, making candy in the Dells, which is now known as "Powers Candies". Mary and Tom took over the Puetz family business, "County Maps", which they operated for a couple decades until retirement. Mary was an avid gardener who loved to grow her own geraniums and impatiens in her greenhouse and shared her plants with the community. She and her husband loved attending harness-horse races all over Wisconsin in their RV and were very involved in the horse racing community. She loved building puzzles and spending time with friends and family. Her horses, dogs and cats were family to her throughout the years; she is survived by Honey and Dusti, her palominos.

Mary is survived by her son, Steve (Cindy) Puetz; daughter, Cheri (Daniel) O'Bannon; and granddaughters Chelcie and Whitney Puetz. She is also survived by her brother, Mark (Adeline) Rieth. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Margaret (Kline) Rieth, her husband, Thomas Puetz and her daughter, Vicki Puetz.
